I was listening to an audio stream at the time, so after that ended I restarted Safari and it started functioning normally again. At this point I also couldn't open the sidebar or get any response from any of the UI. I just wanted to add to this - I'm running into these blank tabs as well - screenshot from yesterday, when things were so broken that clicking on any tab continued to show the same address, and the tab content didn't change either. Let me state clearly - BEFORE UPGRADING TO MONTEREY a few weeks ago, Safari ran fine alongside Chrome, and Chorme processes would go into the background without any trouble I also have an intermittent flickering cursor issueĪny further suggestions? Are you suggesting I uninstall Google Chrome altogether? How can it actually be still affecting other processes? this makes no sense to me. There are also some other factors that I mentioned in my post above: The disappearing tabs icons, the tabs are just completely blank which I provided a screenshot of yesterday, is this a common bug with Safari 15? The slow typing. Even with extensions uninstalled, so as it made no difference at all I’ve re-installed two of them again, Adblock and auto-reload Safari is still coming in at 97.6% CPU despite this. I only had few running, two ad blockers, and “Auto-reload”, and something called “Honey”- so not many were ever running in the first place. Yesterday just to be sure, I actually went as far as uninstalling all the extension completely, just to clarify that the problem isnt SAFARI extenstions causing the slowdown. Thanks for your reply and your help so far.īut I had disabled all extensions, as mentioned yesterday where I said “all extensions are currently disabled"
